That said, I have to finish it to find out what happens. Here's what I hope....I hope he learns to love the pure and simple way we were created to love.
Last month at book club I was elected to read the book - lucky me! Seems a few others elected themselves as well....thank goodness! We had quite a wonderful discussion last night with these dear friends who I have shared many a book with in the last 10 years. I was sad to hear women are leaving their husbands after reading this book thinking there is more out there for them. We decided, for most of us, it's right in front of us. Just have to take the time and make the effort to make a relationship what you want it to be.
Short post....I have some reading to do!

The reviews that I've read assured me this was not a book that I would want to read. I hate to start something that I don't enjoy and have to finish it out to see how it ends. Here's hoping you find some really good summer reading soon! I always love a good mystery!
Happy Memorial Day! Better run I have about 30 people coming this afternoon!

I am with you! That book is sick and twisted and it made me cringe as well. I found it to be poorly written with ridiculous characterization and pathetic dialogue. Now what in the world would be appealing about that kind of relationship Ana and Christian have? I am not going to read any more in the series, but I would guess he changes a bit by the third book, Freed. Trashy!!!
I totally agree .. guess I am a prude right there with you! ;) I did finish the first book but an not reading on. Book 1 was more than enough!!
Good lord. I have not read this and I know I will not like it!
Well it sure doesn't sound like my kind of book either.
I love that you've been a part of your book club for 10 years, that's fantastic!
I keep hearing all sorts of things about it and kind of want to read it just so I know what everyone is talking about. I wouldn't buy it, I'd only read it if someone happened to pass it along to me.
I don't have any desire to read the series either. I'm more of a romantic, I guess! Oh, okay... prude!
