How many Biscuits, and their stuff, can we squeeze in to one Clown Car?
I am talking in code. The Clown Car is really the new family room and the squeezing is the furnishings from our mudroom, kitchen, dining room and living room that have joined the usual family room furnishings.
This week is tougher than the rest of the entire project because it is floor week! I am so nervous about the floor color as our oak colored floors in the entire house are being stained dark to match the new family room floor. I am nervous about going dark although I LOVE the look. A big jump for me. Bigger than transitional light fixtures, bigger than bathroom selections. This floor is making me crazy with nervousness never mind the furniture moving and stuff shoving I have been doing. Apparently, I will need to find a new cleaning apparatus because as my dear friend said, "I love my dark hardwood floors, especially when they are clean."
The guys who are doing the floor assured us we didn't need to move out as the process is "dust less". Which was fine until they started in the kitchen today. I might make a last minute call to hotels in the area for rooms until Friday as I think I might have a meltdown or three on my hands before the end of the week. Heck, probably before the end of the day. What do you think they will say when I ask them to crawl in and out of the family room window? Never mind getting upstairs and down the hall? A ladder is definitely OUT!
So, how much can one fit in our new family room?
37 coats (estimated)
10 chairs
5 lamps
3 mirrors
2 kitchen tables
2 desks
2 sofas
2 buffets
1 secretary/desk
1 ottoman
and an elk painting....it's a long story!
My word for the week is patience...

Patience is always a good word. I bet your floors will be gorgeous!! Really look forward to seeing pictures of the finished product.Am new to your blog. Glad I found it!
Awesome project though! I can't wait to see the floors!
Yes patience!!! Oh my word! Thanks for the Coco bday wishes. As for the LA travelers they should look no further than the Beverly Hills Hotel. On a nice day you can sit on the patio and see a million stars. Pricey though. Ivy is good too!
